Farewell Carmel-by-the-Sea

To Our Beloved Burns Fans,

With bittersweetness, I would like to share that Burns 1876 has sold our Carmel-by-the-Sea lease to one of our wholesale accounts, Belle Cose, effective September 1st.

We’ve had 11 wonderful years on Ocean Avenue and cherish the relationships we have made in beautiful Carmel.  This was a difficult decision, but with California’s new restrictions on exotic leathers, and their plan to remove fur from the state as soon as next year, this made the hard decision to sell our lease somewhat easier.  With this new legislation we wouldn’t be able to sell our fur hats and many of our boots, belts, and handbags.

Belle Cose will continue carrying Burns products, just like they do in their Jackson Hole, Wyoming locations.  They have invited us to host trunk shows on occasion so we can stay connected with you, our cherished clients on the West Coast.  We are grateful to Belle Cose for their partnership and support their venture in Carmel.  Just like us, they are a family-owned business who values high-quality products.  They have multiple retail stores in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Vero Beach, Florida.  Carmel-by-the-Sea will be a great addition to their family brand.

Belle Cose will open in the fall of this year, so be sure to stop in, introduce yourselves, and see what’s new from Burns.

We express a huge, sincere thank you for your gracious patronage of Burns 1876 in Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Our hearts are filled with gratitude for each of you as we turn yet another page in the legacy of our 6th generation family-owned business.

Respectfully,

Danna

P.S. Remember, we’re only a click or call away so we hope to hear from you soon!
