Whether you enjoy hitting the slopes, taking a leisurely, winter horseback ride through the snow-kissed woods or simply relaxing by a warm fire, now’s the time to indulge in your favorite winter activities. Jackson Hole, WY is an ideal destination in the west to get away from – or get to – it all!
Ski or Board
When it comes to skiing or snowboarding, Jackson Hole pretty much has it all. There are three different mountain resorts: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King Mountain and Grand Targhee Resort. And of course, for the mountain adrenaline seeker, back country skiing is the thing that legends are made of and it’s very popular with the locals. Cozy up to a “Jackson Holer” and you may be lucky enough to have them share some of their favorite spots with you – or not 😉. Maybe buy them a drink at one of their favorite spots mentioned below.
Eat and Drink Like a Local
There’s no shortage of places to eat and drink and their local magazine – “Jackson Hole” – revealed a few top spots. They include: Pearl Street Bagels for breakfast or lunch; Mexican, street-style tacos at Streetfood @ the Stagecoach; Steak Tartare pizza at Snake River Grill; or a cinnamon brioche at Persephone’s Bakery. Foodies can also pick up some special treats from the Tetons to take home from this sweet spot that was a James Beard semi-finalist in 2020. Feeling thirsty? Trip Advisor’s top three choices are: RoadHouse Brewing Company; Stagecoach Bar; and Thai Me Up. These spots are popular with the locals too.
Pick up something from Burns 1876!
There’s no shortage of trendy shops in Jackson Hole. And, Burns 1876 is excited to share that it recently opened a full-time shop in this bustling town in November of 2022. Prior to that, Burns reserved part time summer residency with one of its wholesale accounts, Belle Cose. Belle Cose has multiple locations in Jackson Hole but, Burns’ location is called “The Shoppe.” Shoppers who pop in will find a luxurious variety of hats, boots, belts and buckles along with a few clothing and relative home good lines that Belle Cose sells in their other locations. It’s a great little space in a cabin located one block off the square.
Visit two National Parks
This area is home to not one – but two – national parks – Yellowstone and Grand Teton. While summers bring the crowds, winter shows a different side to those who wander in to explore; winter activities abound. Both parks are popular destinations for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and wildlife photographers. Yellowstone’s Snow Lodge is one of the best places to stay and skier shuttles depart daily through early March. And – hey – we have a special place in our heart for Yellowstone – specifically the “Yellowstone” TV series. We’ve provided several cast members with cowboy hats and bands, along with other western gear.
So, what are you waiting for? Start planning your Jackson Hole escape!
