MerleFest: April 27-30; Wilkesboro, NC – This festival is one of the premier music festivals in the country. It’s an annual homecoming of sorts for musicians and music fans around the country. Held on the campus of Wilkes Community College, MerleFest was founded in memory of the late Eddy Merle Watson, son of American music legend Doc Watson. MerleFest celebrates everything from traditional country music to music from the Appalachian region, including bluegrass and old-time music, and expanded to include Americana, country, blues, rock and many other styles. The annual event has become the primary fundraiser for the WCC Foundation, funding scholarships, capital projects and other educational needs.

CMA Music Festival: June 8-11; Nashville, TN – This festival is the longest running one in the world and this year marks its 50th anniversary! Music fans have many different ticketing options ranging from a VIP four-day pass to attending outdoor venues for free. A portion of proceeds from CMA Fest will support the CMA Foundation and their mission to shape the next generation through high quality music education. They believe that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in music.

Watershed Festival: George, WA; Aug. 4-6 – What do you get when you combine country music and camping? That’s right! Watershed. Some of this year’s lineup include the likes of Cody Johnson, Keith Urban, Carley Pierce, Lainey Wilson and many other talented musicians. This festival even has its own devoted group of country fans – affectionately known as “shedders.”
